Through his experiences as a musician and world traveler, Dion Tucker has taken up the mantle of visual emissary. Inspired by the works of prominent documentary photographers such as Roy DeCarava, William Claxton, Gordon Parks and Vivian Maier, Dion mostly employs stunning black and white imagery to document the raw emotion and passion of his subjects. Self-taught, his portraits of the contemporary jazz scene particularly display his photographic acumen and the rare ability to get up close and personal like only an “insider” can.
